Overview
Global issues are constantly evolving, and international cooperation has become essential in addressing challenges such as climate change, public health, and humanitarian development. This study trip is designed to help students build the mindset and skills needed for the future.
Before departure, participants will join expert-led training to strengthen cross-cultural communication, presentation skills, and critical thinking for international settings. Students will then travel to Geneva, Switzerland’s “Capital of Peace,” to visit international organisations and gain first-hand insight into how global governance works. Through real-world exposure and guided learning, the programme broadens international perspective and nurtures the next generation of globally minded leaders.

Global Exposure in Geneva
Geneva is widely known as the “Capital of Peace” and one of the world’s most important centres for multilateral diplomacy. It is home to the United Nations Office at Geneva, the World Health Organization, the International Labour Organization, and hundreds of international institutions and diplomatic missions. Through this study trip, students will step into the heart of international affairs, gain exposure to global organisations, and deepen their understanding of current world issues in a city rich in culture, ideas, and opportunity.
Understanding Global Governance and Multilateral Cooperation
- Visit the United Nations Office at Geneva to learn about multilateral diplomacy and international decision-making
- Visit the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum to understand humanitarian work and global humanitarian values
- Visit other international organisations to gain a closer understanding of how global issues are addressed in practice
Cross-cultural Communication and Leadership Training
- Pre-departure training led by professionals with extensive international exchange experience
- Interactive workshops to build confidence in expressing ideas through English and body language
- Development of communication, discussion, and presentation skills for future leaders
Exploring Scientific Innovation
- Visit CERN, one of the world’s leading centres for particle physics research
- Visit the Patek Philippe Museum to learn about Swiss precision craftsmanship and scientific heritage
European History and Cultural Experience
- Visit Geneva’s landmarks, including the Jet d’Eau and the Flower Clock
- Take the Mont Salève cable car for panoramic views of Lake Geneva and the Alps
- Visit St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Reformation Wall to learn about European religious and historical development

Transportation
Meet at Hong Kong International Airport and take a connecting flight via Beijing to Geneva.

〔Attraction〕Geneva Old Town
Geneva Old Town is located on the hillside along the southern bank of the Rhône River and is one of the city’s most charming historic districts. With its winding streets, old churches, art galleries, cafés, and antique shops, it offers a rich European atmosphere and a glimpse into the city’s cultural heritage.
〔Attraction〕Jet d’Eau
The Jet d’Eau is one of Geneva’s most iconic landmarks. Located on Lake Geneva, this giant fountain shoots water up to around 140 metres into the air using high-pressure pumps. It can be seen from many parts of the city. A stone pier stretches out beneath the fountain, and depending on the wind, visitors may even feel the spray up close.
〔Attraction〕Flower Clock
The Flower Clock is a famous landmark in Geneva’s English Garden, near Lake Geneva. Built in 1955, it combines floral beauty with Swiss watchmaking craftsmanship and symbolises Geneva’s identity as the “City of Watchmaking.” Decorated with around 6,500 seasonal plants, it changes in colour and pattern throughout the year.

〔Visit〕United Nations Office at Geneva
The Palais des Nations, home to the United Nations Office at Geneva, is one of the world’s largest centres for international diplomacy and conferences. Originally built as the headquarters of the League of Nations, it has served as a key UN hub in Europe since 1946 and hosts thousands of international meetings each year.
〔Visit〕International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum
Opened in 1988 next to the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross, this museum presents the history, challenges, and universal values of humanitarian action. It also hosts contemporary exhibitions related to humanitarian issues. The ICRC is one of the oldest and most respected humanitarian organisations in the world.

〔Visit〕Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Geneva or another trade-related institution
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Geneva is the official representative office of the Hong Kong SAR Government to the World Trade Organization and the trade committees of the OECD. Its role is to promote rules-based multilateral free trade and safeguard Hong Kong’s trade interests in international forums.
〔Visit〕WTO or ILO or WHO or another international organisation
Students may visit the World Trade Organization, International Labour Organization, World Health Organization, or another international organisation, subject to final arrangement. These organisations play major roles in shaping global trade, labour rights, public health, and international cooperation.

〔Visit〕CERN or another laboratory
Located on the Swiss-French border, CERN is the world’s largest particle physics laboratory and home to the Large Hadron Collider. It is dedicated to exploring the origins of the universe and the fundamental building blocks of matter. CERN is also known as the birthplace of the World Wide Web.
〔Visit〕International Organization for Migration or another humanitarian organisation in Geneva
The International Organization for Migration is the UN agency responsible for migration-related issues. Headquartered in Geneva, it works to promote safe, orderly, and dignified migration, and plays an important role in humanitarian assistance, refugee resettlement, anti-trafficking efforts, and migration policy support.

〔Attraction〕Mont Salève Cable Car
Located on the French-Swiss border, the Mont Salève cable car takes visitors to an altitude of about 1,100 metres in just a few minutes. Known as the “balcony of Geneva,” it offers panoramic views of Lake Geneva, the Jet d’Eau, and the distant Alps.
〔Attraction〕St. Peter’s Cathedral
St. Peter’s Cathedral is one of Geneva Old Town’s most important landmarks. With over 850 years of history, it combines Romanesque, Gothic, and Neoclassical architectural styles. It was also closely associated with John Calvin during the Protestant Reformation.
〔Attraction〕Reformation Wall
Located within the grounds of the University of Geneva, the Reformation Wall is one of the city’s most important historical monuments. It reflects Geneva’s central role in the history of the Protestant Reformation.

〔Attraction〕Patek Philippe Museum
The Patek Philippe Museum is one of Geneva’s most famous museums and is often regarded as a temple of watchmaking. Its collection spans from the 16th century to the present day and includes highly complex mechanical watches, enamel timepieces, and iconic works from the brand’s history. It offers a fascinating insight into 500 years of Geneva’s watchmaking tradition and scientific precision.

Take a connecting flight from Geneva via Beijing back to Hong Kong.

- The final itinerary may be adjusted subject to actual conditions and flight arrangements.
- The transit point for both outbound and return flights may be changed subject to airline arrangement.
- In the event of force majeure or circumstances beyond the organiser’s control, including but not limited to traffic delays, heavy snow, road closures, weather conditions, flight delays, natural disasters, or government actions, any resulting delay, shortened visit, or incomplete itinerary shall not be grounds for compensation or withdrawal from the tour.
Accommodation
Participants will stay in a youth hostel throughout the trip, with one bed per participant and same-gender room sharing. Rooms will be reserved for members of this tour group only, but bathroom and toilet facilities may be shared with other hostel guests.
If the listed hostel is unavailable, another youth hostel of a similar standard will be arranged.

Tour Fee
HKD 37,000 per participant
Tour fee includes
- Return air ticket and airport taxes
- Attraction admission fees, accommodation, local transport, and meals as listed
- Group travel insurance
- Stamp duty
- Service fees for tour escort, guide, and driver
- Pre-tour briefing session
Tour fee does not include
- Passport and Schengen visa fees, if required
- Optional sightseeing not listed in the itinerary
- Costs arising from travelling separately from the group
- Extra expenses caused by delays, strikes, weather, or other unforeseen events beyond organiser control
- Personal expenses such as shopping, SIM card, laundry, and items not specified
Fuel surcharge note: Tour fee is based on the fuel surcharge as of 1 April 2026. If the airline increases the surcharge by HKD 200 or above per person before the enrolment deadline, the difference will be collected separately.
Enrolment
Participants must register on the HKFYG Easy Member Platform and pay a deposit of HKD 3,500.
After the group is confirmed, participants will receive an email with instructions for document submission and final payment.
- Deposit is non-refundable if the participant withdraws after group confirmation
- Deposit is non-refundable if final payment is not completed by the deadline
- If the tour cannot be formed, the deposit will be fully refunded

Note: If participants have any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or special requests, please inform us proactively when making payment after the group is confirmed. We will do our best to accommodate such needs. However, participants should also assess, based on their own health condition, whether the meals arranged for the tour are suitable for consumption. Our organisation shall not be held liable for any allergic reactions, health issues, or related losses arising from any food or beverages consumed during the tour.
Entry Information
HKSAR Passport holders and Macao SAR Passport holders may generally enter Switzerland and the Schengen area visa-free for up to 90 days.
Chinese passport holders must apply for a Schengen visa (Category C) in advance.
